Hungary Golden Visa
The Hungary Golden Visa was readapted, and the legislation installed in late 2023. The ability to submit applications was then brought forward and will be accepted as of January 1st, 2024. With the available options and the ability to gain Residence in as little as 2-months from making the required investment, the Hungary Golden Visa is an outstanding option for those looking to gain freedom of movement within the EU or access the ability to reside and do business in Hungary.
With investments geared towards real estate, through either a government approved real estate fund with an investment of EUR 250,000 required or alternatively a free-hold residential real estate purchase with a minimum investment of EUR 500,000 required. Permanent Residence is granted for an initial 10-years for both main applicants and dependents and can be renewed for a further 10-years thereafter regardless of how much time is spent in Hungary.
A recent option leading to 5-year Residence from the outset is also available. This allows applicants to purchase residential or commercial real estate to the minimum value of EUR 130,000. As long as the real estate is retained or a new piece of real estate at the minimum value is retained, applicants are able to renew their 5-year Residence Cards indefinitely. The spouse and children of the main applicant can be included.
